Polar yachtsman Adrian Flanagan will be on the Kemp Sails stand (N115) tomorrow
Adrian Flanagan, who travelled 26,000 miles in his 40ft stainless steel sloop Barrabas, will be on the Kemp Sails stand tomorrow at the London Boat Show.
Adrian left Hamble Point Marina in October last year in a bid to become the first singlehander to circumnavigate the globe non-stop via the polar regions. An enforced stopover in Hawaii saw the end of his dreams, but he pushed on hoping to make it across Russia’s Arctic coast before the ice closed in. Unfortunately engine troubles put paid to plan B and after putting in to Nome on Alaska’s west coast, Adrian decided to return home in September 2006.
Barrabas is still in Alaska and Adrian plans to return in June to complete the voyage. Kemp Sails has sponsored Adrian from the start, and will be showing a video diary of the trip throughout the show.
If you’d like to meet Adrian visit Kemp Sails on stand N115 tomorrow (8 January) at 11am.
