Fun for all the family at this year's show including the first ever PBO engine race
The 2007 London Boat Show kicks off tomorrow with press and preview day, and is open until Sunday 14 January. Featuring the brand new PBO Engine Race, new simulators for practising your anchoring, dinghy racing against the clock (RYA stand B001) and navigation in the fog, plus a theatre for show events, there’s more than ever to keep young and old, sailor and non-sailor entertained for the day. And don’t forget to stop by the PBO stand (B008) for great magazine subscription offers. For more information and to book tickets, visit the boat show website: www.londonboatshow.com
The PBO Engine Race
As regular readers of PBO will already know, up to 20% of all RNLI and Coastguard callouts are caused by engine or mechanical failure. So at this year’s show, ask yourself: Have you ever completed any of the following tasks?
Checking a seawater intake filter, changed a water impeller, changed a fanbelt or a fuel filter?
PBO in partnership with Volvo Penta presentsThe Engine Racestarting at 11AM daily, once an hour until 5PM, with the first and last sessions reserved especially for PBO readers who have signed up at the PBO stand (B008). A Volvo Penta expert will brief the teams on these common breakdowns and how to go about putting things right. Then it’s a race against the other teams – and hopefully a learning experience for everyone.
