Four-man crew airlifted after helping in Welsh floods
A four-man lifeboat crew has been airlifted to dry land by an RAF helicopter, while attempting to rescue holidaymakers in a flooded Welsh caravan park.
The RNLI crew got into trouble when the force of the River Lei, which burst its banks in the early hours of Saturday, became too strong.
The crew of the Sea King helicopter winched their colleagues to dry land and also rescued two teenage girls whose caravan was cut off and a family of three who escaped the rising water by climbing atop their trailer at the Riverside Caravan Park in Llandre, Ceredigion, five miles north of Aberystwyth.
