Olympic summer applications open to 12 December 2011
Boat owners hoping to watch next summer’s Olympic and Paralympic sailing events from their own vessels have two weeks in which to book their berths and anchorages.
Weymouth Harbour Authority has opened the first phase of applications for berthing over the 16 July – 9 September 2012 period. This tranche will be allocated by 21 December.
All berths and anchorages, which will cost between £5 and £30 a day, must be booked in advance. Tight restrictions will apply for security reasons and anyone without a booking will not be able to moor.
Weymouth Harbour has seen much improvement in the runup to the Games, including new showers, extra pontoons, WiFi and pump-out facilities. A water taxi will serve designated anchorages for the duration and a comprehensive programme of entertainment will run alongside the sailing events.
For booking information visit the Weymouth Harbour website.
