If your boat is on an exposed mooring through the winter, or if heavy rainfall or snowfall is expected, bear in mind that slush and ice can block your cockpit drains – and if there’s a lot of wind, rain or snow that could swamp the boat. Consider a cockpit cover or make regular trips out there to clear the drains. Best of all, find a more secure mooring for the winter!
