Guy Waites developed a passion for sailing 28 years ago, learning off the coast of Ramsgate, Kent. Fascinated by single-handed sailing, he read many accounts of the 1968 Golden Globe Race and worked for the sole finisher, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, as a skipper in the 2019-20 Clipper Round the World Race.
