Parkstone Yacht Club is pleased to announce that locally-based businesses, LV= and The Fencing Centre will be supporting this year’s Adidas Poole Week 2016.
Taking place at Parkstone Yacht Club on Sunday 21 – Friday 26 August, Adidas Poole Week is open to sailors of all dinghies and small keel boats, offering a great opportunity to experience some of the best harbour and sea sailing on the south coast.
Entries are now open, and if you register before Monday 8 August 2016, you will benefit from an early booking discount.
Due to the generosity and support from marine clothing and footwear supplier, Adidas – official kit supplier to Team GB for Rio 2016 – all sailors competing in the regatta will be entered in to a daily draw to win one of the two £200 vouchers that will be awarded as prizes each day. The daily winners will be randomly drawn each evening, so all entrants at the daily prize giving will be in with a chance to win, every day!
What’s more LV= and The Fencing Centre will be providing a free sailors’ supper for all competitors on the Sunday evening, a free drink each day and an extravagant Rio-themed party on the Friday night!
Bryan Drake, Commodore at Parkstone Yacht Club, said: “We’re delighted to confirm that LV= and The Fencing Centre will be joining our headline sponsor Adidas for this year’s Poole Week regatta, and would like to thank them all for their generosity. It’s testament to the popularity of Poole Week that continue to attract big-name sponsors for the event.
“We already have almost 95 boats entered for Adidas Poole Week 2016, but we’re confident with the superb array of prizes, alongside the fantastic food, drink and entertainment on offer for the week that numbers will continue to grow ahead of the regatta.
“We look forward to welcoming sailors and their families to Parkstone Yacht Club next month, for what promises to be a fantastic week.”
Each class with six or more entries will receive separate class results, classes with 12 boats or more will get a separate class start, plus there will be the popular handicap classes to ensure that no one is disappointed. There will be a daily social programme, including post-sailing entertainment, food and drink alongside the daily prize giving.
All Adidas Poole Week entrants will receive free temporary family membership to the Club, meaning they will be able to take advantage of the excellent location and facilities on offer. There’s plenty of family-friendly activities and entertainment close by, including the renowned Sandbanks beach, Brownsea Island, Monkey World and the Jurassic Coast.
The first Poole Week regatta took place in 1948, over the last 68 years the event may have changed its format, but one thing has remained – its position as the premier annual dinghy and small keel boat event on the south coast.
To take advantage of discounted entry rates for Adidas Poole Week, you must enter before 8 August 2016. For more information and to enter visit www.pooleweek.org or contact Parkstone Yacht Club on 01202 743610
