When you first hoist your jib, here’s a good way to make sure the bowlines on your sheets don’t come undone. Sheet it in on one side to tighten the bowline, then briefly haul it to windward to tighten that sheet too. Otherwise, when it flogs during your first tack, you might find one of the knots coming adrift.
