A boat of simple hull form, with more or less flat
bottom, and more or less flat sides, running together at the stem. Sharpies may
be small pulling boats, small open dinghies, or decked cruising boats with
cabins. The bigger sizes, fitted with leeboards, are relatively common on New
England waters.
