Phase one of the three-year dredging plan completed
East
Cowes Marina has completed phase one of its proposed three year
dredging plan to remove silt from the entire marina.
This represents a £130,000 investment from owners Dean & Reddyhoff and aims to ensure that the Isle of Wight marina remains a top destination for berth holders and visitors alike.
Now
pontoons D through to J are dredged to 2.5m below chart datum offering
increased accommodation for larger cruising and racing yachts.
This first phase
has already added almost 800m length of extra deep water mooring.
East Cowes Marina, situated on the bank of the River medina, south of the
chain ferry, is already fully booked for the Round the Island Race, which is being held on June 1.
A few places still remain for Cowes Week and the
Fastnet start, both in August, the Isle of Wight Festival in June and Bestival in September.
