An appeal goes out to donate old Laser dinghies to the Sri Lankan Yachting Association
Following the Enterprise World Championships held in Sri Lanka this year, a plan has
been put together between UK and Irish Enterprise sailors to help further the youth development scheme of the Sri Lankan Yachting Association. After witnessing the Association’s great work with just an old fleet of Optimists, the UK and Irish sailors felt the scheme would now benefit from a fleet of bigger boats.
The plan is to send a container packed with as many Lasers, or Laser parts, as possible. Condition doesn’t matter as all repairs and modifications required for the boats can be made locally there upon arrival.
Cash donations would be accepted towards the cause, although the main focus is on donations of complete or incomplete Lasers or just Laser parts.
