Southern Ocean collision caught on camera
The world-record holding biofuel-powered trimaran Earthrace, now owned by the Sea Shephard Conservation Society for use as an anti-whaling vessel has been involved in a collision with another vessel and sunk in the Southern Ocean. All the activists were recovered safely to another Sea Shephard ship.
The collision between the Japanese whaling fleet vessel Shonan Maru and the newly renamed trimaran Ady Gil was caught on camera.
