Two expert advice events will take place this April in Plymouth and Falmouth
Cruising yachtsmen in the South West are invited to put their questions to the experts at two free evening events.
The Royal Yachting Association’s (RYA) head of legal and government affairs
Gus Lewis and the RYA cruising manager Stuart Carruthers will be
hosting the advice sessions for recreational boaters.
On Tuesday 1 April, the first event will be held at the Royal Western Yacht Club in Plymouth.
On Wednesday 2 April, the second session will be held at Mylor Yacht Club, in Mylor Churchtown, Falmouth.
During the events, the RYA team will explain the organisation’s work to
promote and represent recreational boating interests to Government, its
agencies and the EU Commission to ensure that they take full account of
boaters’ activities when balancing competing interests and drafting
legislation.
Open to all
All recreational boaters in the area are invited to attend. The
talks will cover the current issues that the RYA is engaged in on behalf of UK sailors. It is also an opportunity to pose questions to the team on
matters that affect you.
It is not a requirement to be a member of the RYA or a member of the
club hosting the event to attend.
Places at these events are free of charge but are limited in number.
Details of how to book your place will be advertised later this month.
