Sir Robin Knox-Johnston cut the ribbon on Wednesday night at the grand opening of the Aladdin’s Cave clothing store at Swanwick Marina, River Hamble.

All the major brands are there to try on and compare, with huge displays by Henri-Lloyd and Gill dominating the ground floor.

The tills were already ringing in its first official hour of opening as party guests and passers-by bought striped jerseys, fleeces and even complete sets of waterproofs.

‘It’s a one-stop shop for sailing clothes, whether you’re buying budget or top of the range’, said Aladdin’s Cave’s Glynn Foulkes.
