Just a year after the speed ban, a new event has been announced for Lake Windermere. The Windermere on Water Festival takes place on 24 and 25 June 2006. Designed to ‘stimulate and inspire the imagination of all who experience it,’ it involves street theatre, themed walks, story-telling and exhibitions about the lake. The highlight will be an outdoor performance of ‘Herbert’s Dream’ (repeated on Sunday), along with other acts and a fireworks display.
