QE2 goes aground on the Bramble Bank in the Solent in strong winds
The world’s most famous cruise liner, the QE2, briefly ran aground on her way into Southampton Water this morning in strong winds.
None of the 2,700 passengers or crew were injured, and when three tugs arrived to pull her clear, the 70,000-ton ship continued on to Southampton at about 0610.
