Jubilee Sailing Trust patron announces new fund-raising venture
Broadcast journalist and author Peter Snow was on hand to launched a new online charity bingo site designed to help raise funds for the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST).
The launch took place on boardLord Nelson, one of the JST’s two beautiful square riggers berthed in London’s Canary Wharf last week.
Snow, who is a vice patron of the charity, called on bingo fans and charity supporters to sign up and raise much-needed funds for the charity
Jubilee Sailing Trust Bingo costs as little as 25p per ticket, and there are also 5p and 10p games available.
Initial cash deposits – from just £10 and up to £250 – will be matched by the site, doubling your chances to win.
Prizes include a brand new VW Beetle (or £12,000 prize money) and big guaranteed jackpots (£5,000).
“I love bingo,” admitted Snow. “It was one of my favourite past-times when I was a young man in the army in the mid 1950s, although it was Housey Housey then.”
The JST receives 25% of revenue generated from players who have chosen to support it. Funds raised will enable the charity to continue promoting the integration of people of all physical abilities through the challenge and adventure of sailing tall ships on the open sea.
Amanda Butcher, chief executive, JST, who joined Peter at the launch, said: “We’re thrilled that Peter has joined us today to help Jubilee Sailing Trust kick-off this exciting new fundraising initiative – and hope bingo fans will also give us their support.
“Online charity bingo will offer us the opportunity to reach a far greater audience than traditional fundraising avenues, and will also complement it well. The fact we’ll receive funds from players, helping us to continue supporting those in need, is a great reason to get involved in this venture”.
