With the boat and crew in Honolulu, the next crewmembers are busy raising cash in the UK...
With the venerable ‘old lady’ and crew safely ashore in Honolulu, after 19 days at sea, the next crewmembers are all busy raising cash in the UK.
The idea behind the project is to continue the legacy left by Sir Alec Rose. It was his wish that his much-lovedLively Lady, built in Calcutta in 1948, should work out her days, helping to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged young adults.
For this, the boat’s second circumnavigation, the Skipper and Mate on each of the 27 legs are assisted by a team of two young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds as crew, who have to raise money for flights and other expenses.
There are numerous events, some of which are listed below, that have been organised to raise the necessary funds.
Project organiser Alan Priddy skipped the San Diego-Honolulu leg but is busy on the island now, preparing for the next leg to Fiji.
