It must be nuts
A Cornish Crabber owner has discovered an extra lookout atop his mast.
The owner boarded his boat earlier this month on its swinging mooring in Salcombe, when he spooted a squirrel that had climbed the mast.
‘It puts a new spin on the crow’s nest lookout,’ said Ian Gibson, Salcombe harbour master.
‘(The owner) motored to Normandy Pontoon to request the assistance of the harbour authority to get the “lookout” down.
‘We used the harbour authority’s crane to make a bridge for his escape, but in the end the “lookout” decided to jump ship and dived into the water and swam across the harbour to Snapes Point and away.’
