Conservation measures up for discussion

Tomorrow, Thursday 13 October, the first of two public meetings will be held on the proposed Special Area of Conservation between Portland and Studland on Dorset’s Jurassic coast.

Natural England – the Government’s statutory nature conservation adviser – will host tomorrow’s meeting at Weymouth Pavilion. Members of the public can see the Consultation proposals in detail and discuss the issues with staff between midday and 8pm.

The second meeting – following the same timescale – takes place at Swanage Rectory on Tuesday 1 November.

Tea and coffee will be available at both.

The Public Consultation on the proposed marine site, which covers an area half the size of the New Forest National Park, closes on Thursday 24 November.
