And passes the PBO office
The Olympic torch has passed the PBO office today, as it begins the final leg of its journey from the sailing venue in Weymouth to the Olympic Stadium in East London.
Yesterday Team GBR performance squad sailor Katrina Hughes ran the torch into the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, before handing over to double Olympic Gold medallist Rodney Pattison, who took the flame from the academy by boat to Weymouth Beach.
Today performance squad member Giles Scott, who beat Ben Ainslie to win the recent Sail for Gold regatta in the Finn class at Weymouth, carried the torch through Portland before transatlantic quadriplegic sailor Geoff Holt carried the torch in Swanage.
And today 60-year-old Barry Light (pictured left) carried the flame across Poole’s Twin Sails Bridge and past the PBO office. Since his birthday in December Mr Light is running 60 marathons in 60 weeks to raise £60,000 for charity.
