Families of Trident crew ask Queen to stop survey
Relatives of crew who died when the Trident fishing trawler mysteriously sank off Caithness in 1974 are asking the Queen to try and help stop a survey of the wreck going ahead.
Trident widows petitioned Tony Blair last week and are now writing to the Queen to ask her to intervene and stop the underwater survey – which has been paid for by the Department of Transport and is due to start imminently.
The Trident wreck was accidentally discovered by divers five years ago, leading to an inquiry being restarted.
