The Wiley Nautical Almanac promises to be a new, comprehensive directory of harbour, tidal and weather data for cruising sailors – a virtual nautical almanac – that you don’t have to pay for.

Despite being launched so soon after the demise of Reeds Online almanac (See previous PBO story Reeds Online almanac ceases trading ), the people at Wiley insist this new version is no ‘rush job’ and that they began work on it over a year ago.

Available from May 11 as a free digital download from Wiley, it enables quick and easy access, at home or on board, to essential cruising navigation, meteorological and key contact information. Once live you can download sections so that the info is accessible even without an internet connection.
