Believed to belong to 65-year-old yachtswoman
Search and rescue teams, hunting for a missing solo yachtswoman off Cornwall, have found a wreckage of a yacht.
Ona Unwin, more commonly known by her middle name Mary, disappeared after departing Mousehole on Saturday evening.
Relatives became anxious when she failed to arrive at her intended destination Bideford, her home town.
The wreck, believed to be the 65-year-old’s 31ft yacht Seagair, was found near Sennen Cove this afternoon. There is no evidence of a body onboard.
A Falmouth Coastguard spokesman said on Monday: ‘At around 12.30pm today, rescue crews discovered the wreckage of a vessel around Sennen Cove.
‘It will be brought ashore later to see whether it can be identified.’
Mrs Unwin got married just over a week ago and only bought the yacht on Thursday.
