Insurance4dinghies from Towergate Mardon is offering a young dinghy sailor a £2,000 sponsorship package in a bid to help him or her become a future Olympic champion. 

Sailing enthusiasts aged 16 or under are eligible to apply for financial support which can be used towards training, travel and equipment costs. Insurance is also provided.

Applicants have until 11 April to explain why they should receive sponsorship and detail their progress in a sailing CV. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in April and the successful bidder announced soon after.

Managing Director, Nigel Mills, comments: ‘It’s tough both mentally and financially for anyone trying to make it into the Olympic squad so we’re hoping that by supporting a young hopeful, it will relieve some of the pressure and help that person realise their dream.’
