Sam Longley suggests a simple way to see how far you've got when antifouling
It is amazing how crew always seem to disappear when boat maintenance time comes. I always end up painting the black antifouling of my Hanse 311 on my own!
If the weather is warm or the sun low I often find it difficult to see what bit I have painted because the working edge dries off too quickly. This is made harder when you have to work from each side and have a long working edge.
To make life easier I cover the hull with chalk lines at about 12in intervals. As I overpaint the marks I know roughly where I have been.
It only takes a couple of minutes but I find it a very useful reference.
